The Toshiba Center for Big Data in Healthcare is a joint collaboration between Toshiba and Johns Hopkins University (JHU) and is headquartered in the Rangos Building. The Toshiba Center will drive research and development programs focused on expanding the emerging role of Big Data in the healthcare field. Healthcare Big Data technologies describe a new generation of solutions and architectures designed to economically extract clinical value from very large and complex volumes of data. Toshiba recognizes that Big Data will play an integral role in the art and practice of medicine in the coming years, and Toshiba, in collaboration with JHU, will lead this effort by creating products that leverage the power of Big Data to drive new discovery and enhance patient care. Toshiba’s partnership with several Johns Hopkins institutes will enable the Center to develop cutting-edge technologies that will have immediate and tangible clinical benefits and improve the health of people around the world.
