Project Overview

The State of Maryland Public Health Laboratory will be a 6-story laboratory facility, designed to meet LEED Silver designation.

“The new public health lab will advance our goal of providing Maryland families the best public health service and protection that modern science and technology can offer,” said Gov. Martin O’Malley. “This state-of-the-art facility maximizes our abilities to protect the health and well-being of all Marylanders under a creative financing agreement that minimizes the cost to taxpayers.”

  • Project Details: 235,000 square feet, transit-oriented development
  • Completion: June 2014 (est.)
  • Amenities: 1.5 blocks from Green Line subway entrance, adjacent community park, sustainable design,  conference and meeting room space, 24-hour security
  • Architect: HDR Inc.
  • Contractor: Turner Construction Company / Cain Contracting / Essex Construction
